Posted more Study Materials

The following study materials are now posted:
* solutions for the previously posted 2011 practice final exam
* suggested practice problems on action-angle variables, perturbation theory, fluids, and non-linear dynamics/chaos. Solutions to these problems will be posted on Sunday evening. (Note that there is an extra posting of the needed pages from Smits for the fluid problems, while the Strogatz problems can be found in the reading material.)

Announcements for the week before the Final

Your final exam is Wed. Dec. 19, 9:00-12:00, in room 26-314.
It will cover material from the entire course. Here are some
related announcements:
* Cedric will hold a question and answer office hour session from 1:00-2:00pm this Friday Dec.14 in our classroom, 26-302.
* Iain's office hours this Friday are cancelled (due to the two full days taken up by the Pappalardo fellowship interviews).
* An old final exam as well as some fluid and chaos problems will be posted soon. Solutions will also be posted this weekend.
* Course review by Iain, Sunday Dec.16 at 2:00pm in 26-302 (It will cover material done after the midterm. See the posted midterm review notes for a review of earlier materials.)
* Extra 8.09 Office hours during exam week:
Monday Dec. 17, 4:30-6:30pm, Iain in 6-401
Tuesday Dec. 18, 4:30-6:30pm, Cedric in or near 6-415A
