1. We will have a recitation tomorrow on Trade Costs. Next week there is no recitation. I will then have a last recitation on Economic Geography or Trade Policy in the 30th (I will create a doodle with some options of papers for this).

Tomorrow, the recitation will be at E52-314 and I will start at 12:10 (so everyone can grab lunch).

2. The presentation schedule and papers are:

Dec 5th:

  (i) Antoine Levy: Antràs,  Gortar and Itskhoki (2016).
  (ii) Taehoon Kim: Autor, Dorn, Hanson, and Majlesi (2016).
  (iii) Mikel Petri: Burstein and Vogel (2015).

Dec 7th:

 (i) Mary Gong:   Cosar (2013).
 (ii) Mayara Silva: DixCarneiro and Kovak (2016).
 (iii) Joshua Bosshardt: Cortes (2008).

I've taken your preferences into account, but had to run a lottery to assign the dates (since most of you wanted to present in the second date). Remember that presentations are 25’, including questions; so you should prepare slides for 20’.

3. If you want to talk about your presentation or your projects, do not hesitate to email me and we can surely find some time to do so.

Regarding the class presentations:

- Presentations are 25’, including questions; so you should prepare slides for 20’.
- You should pick a “recent" paper from the reading list (i.e. less than 10 years old) or another recent paper of your own choice.
- You should pick a paper by November 9 and email either David or Arnaud for approval.
- Please e-mail me (gpgj@mit.edu) saying if you want to present on 5th or 7th of Dec.

Hi all,

In an overwhelming majority, you chose to have the recitation on Friday, 9-10 am (at E52-532). If you cannot come, please do shoot me an email and we can work some office hours so we can go over the material of the recitation in some other time. I will discuss briefly some common mistakes in psets 1 and 2 and discuss Regional Variation of Trade Shock Responses.
