Solar Lights Assembly

Hi everyone,

Great job at the showcase, congrats!
I hope you had enough time to play with your solar light already.
Remember that the goal of this exercise is for you to experience the assembly of a product which parts were produced through industrial processes. You won't be graded on the quality of your assembly. You'll be graded on how the identification of assembly steps, tolerances, and issues.

Tips:
1. Don't forget to remove the protective paper from the acrylic parts.
2. Use the double-sided tape on the back of the solar panels to attach them to the acrylic base.
3. Remove the silicone points on the back of the solar panels so they fit.
4. You can glue the acrylic base to the white polystyrene frame using super-bonder instant adhesive on the borders (after you've soldered the panels to the cable and attached them to the acrylic base). If you don't have super-bonder, we'll have some for you on Tuesday.
5. The button has to be assembled after the circuit is inserted in the injected cover, it doesn't fit from the inner side of the cover.

Last Assignments

Hi everyone,

Some instructions on the last assignments:

1. Solar Lights - Due Tuesday 13th.
On Friday, at the beginning of the showcase, we will give each of you a bag with parts for you to assemble your solar light over the weekend.
The bag of parts contains all the components except for the bent wire base and the three metal supports. You should have one base and three finished (clean and tapped) supports by the end of tomorrow's lab.

2. Sketch Notebooks - Due Tomorrow, Thursday 8th.
Please turn-in your notebooks tomorrow for the final revision, so we can give them back to you on Friday.

3. Grades Revision - Due Sunday 11th.
I'll email you your grades individually later today. Please check them and let me know if something is off by Sunday, 5 p.m.

Bending Jig Report
