CO2 paper supplement online & Nonlinear dynamics notes online

The supplement for the Antonovsky paper is now online. We talked about their toy FBA model (supplemental figure 2) in class. Supplemental figure 3 applies the same principles to the real E. coli GMM to guide their laboratory evolution.

Nonlinear dynamics slides are also online. I added a link to a linear algebra resource (Khan Academy) if you'd like to learn more linear algebra. If you want to clarify a few things, come to office hours. Isaac and I love talking about math.

Final Exam

The final exam will be held on 12/20 from 9-12 noon in 4-149, as stated at the following MIT site: http://web.mit.edu/registrar/classrooms/exams/finals/2017FA_finals_by_subject.html#20.

You are allowed to bring only one standard sheet of paper (8.5x11) with notes on both sides. The final exam from 2015 has been posted on Stellar to aid your studying.

Implementation Clarification: Modifications and Expected Difficulty

Hi All,

Just a reminder: the implementation rubric still applies to the Huang model and will apply to the Singh model next week. This means you still need to do a modification and still need to follow the length and format requirements. The assignment under the homework tab has instructions and tips specific to the individual assignments.

Second, do not judge the difficulty of this or the next implementation upon previous homeworks or implementations. You may be asked to use a skill you are not as strong at or apply your knowledge to a topic you are not as familiar with. I've heard some people waited until Monday to start the last implementation. We strongly encourage you to start working on the implementations early.

Paper Discussion Thursday

On Thursday we'll be discussing Jones et al's Thrombin modeling paper.

The Lawson paper, which is also posted, was an empirical paper co-published with Jones' work that was used to evaluate their modeling.
