Dear Participants

Nice to meet you today -- I'm sure we'll have a good semester.

I've just posted Assignment 1, due Tuesday the 18th.

Note that you should meanwhile complete the initial project status report, so we can start a productive discussion of this.

Details on both should be found in the "gradebook module"

I've also posted the Project Report form, which you should fill out -- as best you can at this point -- for next week.

You may want to look at it with a view to asking me questions about it in tomorrow's class.

Welcome to the Fall Semester!

I'm looking forward to meeting and getting to know you!

over the next week, in time for our first meeting Thursday Sept 6 at 10.30 in Room 1-390.

This full-semester class is a continuation of the half-semester IDS.333.

Its focus will be on applying the methods to an individually selected, practical issue in System Design.

Each participant will work on a project of interest to them - often part of their research or prospective thesis.

Any prospective participant should thus have a well-defined project in hand by the end of October.

If October is too early for you to have defined a substantial project, you might want to sign up for the

other follow-on course, IDS.330, my half-semester course in the Spring.
