Announcements
Next week
Class,Ozge sent around the clover model that we built in class today. I also posted it on STELLAR along with the original assignment. Finishing this up and making the model work would be good practice, but you do not need to hand it in next week.
Early in the semester some of you requested that we cover some
material on networks, agent-based modeling, etc.. So, Wednesday I
will lecture on those topics. I may post some light readings (if I
do I will send another announcement. Otherwise, you can focus on
finishing your term papers, which are due next Friday. Please be
prepared to submit your model along with the paper.

For Next Week
For next week please write a brief description of where you are on your term paper. You can bring it to class or email me.Also, readings have been added to the STELLAR site. Next week is Repenning-fest. There are 4 readings from Nelson's work. Please read them all, and read them in the order listed.
I know I have been very casual about the course, but I was not
happy with the fact that only one student completed the rumor model
assignment.
Please do the readings and be prepared to discuss them!

For next week
For next week, you should revise and extend your rumor models. The original instructions along with some of the questions raised in class are posted on STELLAR. There will also be three readings. Two of them are posted on STELLAR under "Rumor model and readings." One more will be added this weekend after I get back to Chicago where the book that I need to scan is.Announced on 13 April 2011 6:37 p.m. by Peter John Lamberson
Next week
Next week we will continue discussing the model critique exercise. If you have not already, please take some time to read the article and play with the model in iThink (instructions for downloading the free trial of iThink are in the assignment). Also, please read the article, "Problems and Paradoxes in a Model of Punctuated Organizational Change," by our own Anjali Sastry, which has been posted on STELLAR.PJ

Model Critique Excercise
Hi Class,I hope you have enjoyed the spring break. This Wednesday we will work together on a model critique exercise. Under the materials tab on STELLAR, you will find a paper from the SYSTEM Dynamics Review, "The Essence of Transformation in a Self-organizing Team." You will also find an implementation of the model in iThink. Instructions for the critique are given in a document posted there as well. Please read the paper and examine the model for Wednesday, following the instructions given. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAND ANYTHING IN. We will spend class on Wednesday exploring your critiques together.
