Review session, Final exam
Dear class,
Here are some important details:
1. Final exam: 8:30-10:00, Dec 08 (next Wed, in-class exam, our regular classroom and regular time)
Final exam is open-everything, except Internet access.
Professional calculators are not required, and they are allowed by the way if you prefer them.
As Prof. Cohen said: (i) format will be like midterm, (ii) you should expect more questions on the material covered in second half of class, though a couple of questions from first-half would show up too.
2. Review session: 4:00-5:30, Dec 06 (next Mon), room E51-149 (our regular class room)
This is Q&A and optional (not required) session run by Prof., just like the review session for midterm session.
3. The last assignment will be due Dec 06 (next Mon) in class. We will ask you to fill the evaluation form in Mon class too.
4. For your curiosity, the person who so far have participated the most talked almost 30 times. But some have never talked.
Hope you have been enjoying the class.

Dear class,
We have updated the latest version of syllabus and the class website to the new schedules. In particular, as Prof. Cohen mentioned on Monday class, tomorrow (Nov 10) we will discuss the Harvard management case.
I plan to return the graded midterms to you at end of class tomorrow (Nov 10)

Dropping some questions on Portfolio Theory assignment
Dear class,
After all, the witches think you still deserve a Halloween break! Here is how the break works:
Currently there are 5 questions in Portfolio Theory (Nov 03) assignment.
Please only hand in solution to questions 1 and 2 concerning Harvard Management case.
You are not required to hand in solution to questions 3,4,5 concerning Hewlett Foundation case. The reason is that you do not have access to this HF case (thanks to all who brought this to our attention!).
The midterm will be on Monday as planned. So party responssibly!
Have a nice Halloween!

Midterm exam is open-book
Dear class,
The midterm exam on the coming Monday (Nov 01, in class, 8:30-10:00) is open-book, and in fact open everything (do not forget course package and class notes!), except laptop.
Financial calculator is not required (but allowed). If Black-Scholes type of valuation appears in the midterm exam, we will provide you with all needed ingredients for the computation.
The hard-copy solution of last year (2009) Midterm can be picked up from Ms Krista Johnson (Finance suit, 6th floor, E62) tomorrow (Friday), from 10 am onward.
Last, remember that the next assignment on Portfolio Theory is due next Wed (Nov 03). But for now you may want to spend more time on Midterm preparation.
Sorry for tense schedule. Look like you don't have Halloween this year, or the real witch will come the next morning from 8:30. Just kidding!
