Final Exam, Final Grade, and Final Everything

Dear Class,

I've entered the final grades to the system (it is on stellar but may take a few days/hours to appear through the official MIT grade system). The final exam distribution and its solution are also posted on Stellar. Again, from my vantage point--overall very good performance. You will be able to view your final exam book per Indrajit's announcement (Thursday between 3:00 -- 4:00 pm or on Friday between 3:00 - 4:00 pm in his office (E62 - 682)).

So this is the end of 15.433. Thanks again for taking my class. Looking back, I very much enjoyed the semester and my visit to MIT! I wish you happy holidays and success in your endeavors.

Final exam graded

Dear Class,
We finished grading the final exams. You can view your score on Stellar in the grade-book module. Overall, you did well. Out of a maximum of 105 points, some summary statistics of the distribution are:

Max: 105
Min: 43
Mean: 83
Standard deviation: 14

You may stop by to look at your exam on Thursday between 3:00 -- 4:00 pm or on Friday between 3:00 - 4:00 pm in my office (E62 - 682). I will post the solution to the final exam shortly.

Best,
- Indrajit

currency swap

Dear Class,

Indrajit and Anton received a few questions regarding currency swaps:

First, in principle, currency swaps are fair-game. However, let me assure you they are very simple extension of interest rate swaps. The only addition is that after you compute the present value of the two sides of the swap you need to compare them in one common currency and you do that at the prevailing exchange rate.

Second, given a few specific questions we received for question 7 on the practice-exam, I added some clarification points to the solution of Q7—it is now posted on stellar.

Finally, as mentioned in class, you are NOT responsible for the material on Black-Litterman.

Finals and optional recitation

Dear Class,
A couple of things:

1. I will hold an optional recitation for the finals today at the Wong Auditorium (E51-115) from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. Please do not bring any food or drink.

2. The final exam will be held on Tuesday, December 9 during class hours. Please come to the section you attend lectures. This will prevent overflow. If this is a
problem, please email me directly at imitra@mit.edu and let me know.

Best,
- Indrajit
