Subject Description:
Equilibrium properties of macroscopic systems. Basic thermodynamics: state of a system, state variables. Work, heat, first law of thermodynamics, thermochemistry. Second and third law of thermodynamics: entropy and free energy, including the molecular basis for these thermodynamic functions. Phase equilibrium and properties of solutions. Chemical equilibrium of reactions in gas and solution phases. Rates of chemical reactions. Special attention to thermodynamics related to global energy issues.

Final Exams may be viewed at the Chemistry Education Office
Dear Students,The final exams have been graded, and may be viewed in the Chemistry Education Office (6-205, near where problem sets are dropped off) during their regular hours (9am-5pm weekdays). The exams may not be taken out of the Chemistry Education Office. Final grades for the class will be posted soon.

Reminder Final Exam /Review Session Today
Dear students,please be reminded that the final exam will be held tomorrow from 9 am to 12 noon (Johnson Track). You will be allowed to bring 3 sheets of written notes to the exam.
I uploaded the notes of yesterday's review session (Exam Review Kinetics). We will also have a last review session today where you can ask final questions; 7-9pm 4-149 with Nathan and Chee Kong.

Office Hours Tomorrow (12/09)
Hi Everyone,There will not be office hours tomorrow night (Tuesday 12/09) due to a quantum mechanics final exam for us grad students. We will still have office hours on Thursday from 9-10 if you have any questions from studying.
