6.02  Intro to EECS II

An integrated, hands-on introduction to electrical engineering and computer science. Lectures and laboratory experiments explore modeling transmission systems in the time and frequency domains, analog and digital signaling, detecting and correcting errors, source coding, and the engineering of packet-switched networks. These explorations are used to illustrate some common EECS themes: the role of abstraction and modularity in engineering design, building reliable systems using imperfect components, selecting appropriate design metrics, understanding the limits imposed by energy and noise, choosing effective representations for information, analyzing the performance and correctness of algorithms, and engineering tradeoffs in complex systems.

Quiz 3 answer books

Your graded answer books for Quiz 3 are available for you to pick up from my office, 32-G940 (a solution set is also available for you to look at here).  You can pick up your exam until 3pm today or tomorrow (Wednesday) between 9am and 4pm.  If I'm not in my office, please ask Sheila for your exam.  She sits in a cubicle near my office.

I'm also likely to be around Thursday and Friday this week, as is Sheila.

Quiz 3 stats are:

Mean = 69.2 / 90
Standard deviation = 12.

6.02 Quiz 3 on May 19

Quiz 3 is on Monday, May 19 2008, at 9 am.  It is an hour-long quiz, but we'll give every student a bit more time (probably 80 or 90 minutes).  We won't use the entire 3-hour slot.  The quiz will cover the material from Lecture 20 (Intro to Networks) through Lecture 26 and Labs 9 through 11, as well as the homeworks and mini-quizzes that were given over that duration.

One 2-sided "crib sheet" and calculator allowed.

6.02 Wrap Up

Here's a checklist for finishing up in 6.02:

  • Your feedback about the course is important to us, so please take a moment to complete the HKN evaluation
  • Lab #11 is this Wednesday, 5/14.  Note the checkoff deadline below.
  • There will be normal office hours this Thursday, 5/15.
  • You must complete the checkoffs for all labs on or before Thursday, 5/15 in order to receive a passing grade.   Sorry but there's limited staff availability after Thursday and we have to turn in grades shortly after Quiz 3, so there's little leeway to extend this deadline.
  • Please double-check your Gradebook page on the course website.  If there are mis-entered grades, please send email to me and we'll sort things out.
  • Quiz 3 is Monday, 5/19 at 9a in Johnson.  You're allowed to use one 8.5x11" crib sheet and a calculator.

About Lab9 score

Hi Students,

Some of you told me your lab 9 score is missing. I checked it again, and all of your scores are in the system. I am guessing there is some processing time before you can see it. Let's wait until Monday and check it again.
