sample science essays

Here is a link to the 2011 issue of MIT's online journal Angles, which includes science essays for the general public written by students in previous semesters of 21W.031. http://mitangles.wordpress.com/ Look for the essays: "Who's Better and Who's Best?" by Keren Gu; "Microchips and Nanotubes: Using Carbon Nanotubes in Electronics" by Andrew Hyer; and "Fukushima and the Bogey-Man" by Rosie Sugrue. These examples may give you ideas about style and format, how to explain technical information, and how to integrate and cite sources of information in this kind of paper. These three essays were revised at least twice (once for the class itself and a second time in response to suggestions by the journal editors), so you're seeing very polished versions.
