Messages regarding Unified Systems and Labs
Dear Unified Students:Here are a few brief reminders regarding Unified Systems and Labs:
1. First, congratulations again to all the teams who competed in the UEFC. Your lab reports were generally very strong and well reasoned. For those of you who have not seen it, there is a 1 page article / photo-spread in yesterday's issue of The Tech (Vol. 135 (14), Thu April 30, 2015) about the UEFC on page 12. Grab a copy and check it out as long as copies are available.
2. Both Lab 3 and Lab 4 have now been graded. Comments are provided on stellar with a detailed grade breakdown according to the rubric, as well as grades uploaded to the official Gradebook. The grades contribute to your current combined grade for Unified.
3. I mentioned during today's lecture on Design for Reconfigurability a research paper that summarizes principles of reconfigurability and some key numbers from a survey of 33 different reconfigurable systems of increasing complexity (Siddiqi and de Weck, JMD, OCTOBER 2008, Vol. 130 / 101102-1). This paper is posted to the Unified S/L sub-page at the bottom if you are interested since reconfigurability was a major theme for the UEFC this year.
4. Final steps for Unified S/L: Your Lab 5 reports for the Jet Joe Lab (including your raw data collection sheets) are due on Friday May 8 at midnight, that is a week from today. All teams should have gathered their test run data by now. Our final Unified Systems and Labs lecture will also be next Friday (S/L-12 ) at 10AM. We will summarize the key results and insights from a Systems / Labs perspective for the year.
Have a good weekend
