Final Exam Info & Review Session

Hi everyone,

our final exam is scheduled on the next Friday, 5/20. It will be run from 9 am to 12 pm in the same classroom, 4-370. The exam should cover all the topics presented in the lectures. Please bring a calculator and ONE sheet of letter-sized paper is allowed as before.

Considering the schedule restrictions of TAs, we have decided to hold the review session on the next Tuesday (5/17), 6-8 pm at 4-231. We will try recapping the things covered in class. The practice problems are not settled yet, but we are trying to post them within this weekend. We will announce again if they are available on the Stellar.

Exam 3: Practice Problems, Review Session, and Etc.

Hi everyone,

the exam 3 is coming in a week from today. It will be on 5/5, Thursday, and just the same as before, two exam sessions are offered, one at 5:45-7:15 pm and the other at 7:30-9:00pm, but the location is 4-370 for both. The exam covers up to the lecture on yesterday and the problem set 9. You are allowed to bring one sheet of your own notes in letter size. We encourage you to bring your own calculator.

The practice exam problems are now posted. Note that the problem 1-(g) of "Practice Exam 3" is what we have not covered in class (so you are not forced at all to know it for the exam) and also some problems of "Practice Exam 3" are repeated in the additional "Kinetics Practice Problems for Exam 3." We are going to hold an optional review session on the next Tuesday (5/3) evening, at 7-9 pm in 4-231. Kaitlyn will go over stat mech in the first half and Marianna will cover kinetics in the second half. There will be no lecture on 5/4, Wednesday, but I will hold an office hour at the time and place of original lecture. Finally, if you have any conflict with the exam, please contact the instructors for resolution. Good luck on your study!

Problem Set 9 posted

Hi everyone,

the problem set 9 is now posted and this is going to be the last assignment for the subject. Please note that this problem set is relatively longer than the previous ones and hence we suggest you to start working on it sooner than the usual. It might be tempting to drop this one but please keep in mind that the contents covered by this problem set will be the significant portion of the upcoming Exam 3. Please feel free to contact either Prof. Solomon or TAs (Marianna Linz from the EAPS department has joined our teaching team for the Kinetics part) for asking any helps toward these materials.
