Problem Set 7 up
Hi all, Problem set 7 is up on our website,
due next Friday as usual. Sorry not to get it up
earlier. After our weekly meeting of the teaching staff this
morning, I decided to make it a little shorter and I did a little
cutting and editing before I put it up.
Have a good long weekend and I'll see you next week. Best, Larry

scanned lecture notes
Hi all, Several students asked about lecture notes
from the last couple lectures on parametrized surfaces. I
scanned my lecture notes and put them in the materials page.
The quality of the handwriting etc. is not that high, but feel free
to look at them. I don't have typed lecture notes, but I
have been trying to put some exposition of important points into
each problem set, so that they can also serve as a reference to
some extent.
See you in class tomorrow. Best, L

Typo on pset 6
I corrected a typo on pset 6. In problem 8b, some of the
w's should have been s's. Thanks to the student who
pointed this out. Best, L

About midterm 2 grades
Hi all, Here is a little info about grades on the
midterm. For this midterm, a range of 89-100 is (some kind
of) A, 78-88 a B, 66-76 a C, and 55-65 a D.
If anyone didn't do as well as they would have liked, I encourage you to go through the exam with your TA. You can talk about how to do the different problems, but it can be even more important to talk about things like how to get started on problems or study strategies.
See you in class tomorrow.
All the best, Larry
