Math Review Information
Hello,
I would like to welcome you to 11.202, Microeconomics. I met many of you during the orientation during the Math Review sessions. But for those of you I haven’t, my name is Mike Tuori, I am an MCP2 and dual degree student with the supply chain management program at MIT. I also have a bachelor’s in econ from the University of Michigan. Over the course the semester I will be coordinating the ‘Math Review’ component of the course.
While it is called ‘Math Review’ I intend to go beyond just difficulties with the math and really help you to fully understand the underlying concepts and theories of microeconomics. I will be doing this with an hour long session and two hours of office hours per week. The intention of the week session is to help those with any additional questions or confusion after the lecture and the recitation and is completely optional. I will not be giving lectures but will be available to answer questions and will focus on whatever you are finding the most difficult. I plan to have the session on Tuesday evenings to help you with material covered on the problem sets before they are due (but I will not discuss any pset questions directly). My office hours will be on Thursday in order to go over specific pset problems after they have been turned in (or begin to cover material for the next week).
For next week the session will be held from 8:00 – 9:00 pm. I apologize that it is so late but I will be attending a week long course on excel from 5:00 – 7:30. After next week I may move it earlier and I am open to suggestions on when would be best to meet. If you can’t make it but want to attend, please let me know. I will send a follow up email with information on the room number once I have it.
My office hours on Thursday will be from 3 – 5pm, but again I am open to suggestions if this time doesn’t work for you.
Feel free to contact me at any point. mtuori@mit.edu
I look forward to working with you and getting to know you over the semester.
Mike Tuori
