Final exam results

If you'd like to look over your final exam, you may come "visit" it in 3-449 today (12/19/08).  (You can't take it with you at present, but you can look at it.)  After today, your next opportunity to look over your exam will be after the holidays, because the office will be closed in the interim.  The average on the final was 69.8, and the standard deviation was 12.5.

Have a great and restful holiday!

Information about the final posted

Information to help you prepare for the 2.001 final has been posted on Stellar (Materials --> Preparing for the final).  It includes a sheet describing what will be covered on the final, a summary of our sign conventions, a summary sheet describing the equations for three different types of loading (uniaxial, torsional, and bending), and three practice final exams.

Online Evaluations: Get a Free Point Towards your Final Grade

2.001's subject evaluations are now available online at http://web.mit.edu/surveys/subjecteval/.  They'll remain open through Friday, December 12th at 5pm.  Please go online and fill out the evaluation!

We will receive a list of which people filled out evaluations (not what they said, just who filled it out).  Each person who fills out the online evaluation will have an additional point added into their final grade.  That's roughly equal to the value of a pset, so please remember to fill it out.

Pset 8 and Recitation schedule

Two announcements:
1.  There is a (short) new pset (pset 8) out this week.  It's posted on Stellar, and it's due Wednesday, November 19th.
2.  As the syllabus mentions (but you may have forgotten), there's no recitation today (11/13) or tomorrow (11/14).  Enjoy a much-deserved post-quiz break!
