Quiz II room location: 5-233
Hi everyone,We will have quiz II tomorrow (December 9th) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in the room 5-233. Note that this is a different room from our usual classroom. This room is located just one floor above our usual classroom.

Quiz 2 Announcements
Dear All:I want to recap briefly my comments on Thursday concerning the upcoming Quiz 2:
1. The quiz will take place on Thursday, Dec 9 from 10:30 to 12:30 in our regular classroom (5-134).
2. The quiz covers Units 3, 4, 5 and 6.
3. You may bring with you two sheets of paper with your notes (4 pages total). No computers please. A simple calculator is OK.
4. We plan to give 3 problems. Since the long Assignment 6 emphasized optimization, there will be only a single problem on optimization in the quiz (35-40 points).
5. To prepare: (a) Make sure to review all the assignments and understand the solutions to the problems; (b) review the 2008 and 2009 quizzes and solutions, which have already been posted; (c) also review the last problems in Quiz 1 of 2008 and 2009 (and solutions) as they cover material on Unit 3, which was not included in our Quiz 1 this year.
6. In Tuesday’s lecture, Vikrant and I will share a review session and, if time permits, will do a couple of review problems.
7. Ta, Vikrant and I will be available during our regular office hours this coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as by appointment (send us a message).

Problem Set 6: Update
Prof. Odoni, Vikrant, and I agreed to make the last assignment a little shorter. If you have downloaded the earlier version of the assignment, you can ignore part (g) of Problem 1 and part (b) of Problem 3. (If by any chance you have completed any of these two parts, please turn in your work, and we will give you extra credits.)
