2.001 Letter grades on stellar!
I just released letter grades on stellar. Please check and make sure your grade seems consistent with your nominal score.
FYI, nominal scores within 1/2 stdev from class average are by default in the B range, but we did look at other factors, like trends over the semester, quality of the final exam, etc, to assign letter grades.
We tried to be as generous as possible, so please do not haggle on grades. Only contact me if you think there is an actual mistake in our calculations.
I will upload grades to the registar on Tuesday, so let me know before that if you spot any errors.
Thanks and happy new year!
Simona and the 2.001 team.

2.001 Final exam grades on stelar!
Grades for the final are on stellar.
You were quite good on this exam! Average was almost at 43/54, which is quite nice. More importantly, I saw the vast majority of you have digested the fundamental ideas of 2.001.
So, good job 2.001 class of F17!
It has been a pleasure to get to know you all this semester. You have been a hard-working, engaged, generous class. I know it has been very daunting at times, but we have set down an important foundation for your life as engineers.
Thank you for helping us improve the course with your constructive feedback and good suggestions. We will continue to try to make 2.001 better and you are an important part of that process.
We also calculated the nominal score for each student in the class, (based on grading criteria described in the logistics document) and uploaded the nominal scores to stellar.
Class average for that was at 82.2 with an 11.1 STDEV. An impressive performance overall!!!
I will upload a pic of the nominal score distribution on Piazza.
We have not yet assigned final letter grades, which will be decided based on nominal score, as well as trends in performance, according to institute regulations. (http://web.mit.edu/faculty/governance/rules/2.60.html)
I will be entering final letter grades on stellar and on the registar's site sometime next week.
Since now all grades are released, please make sure all is ok, and, if you see any ERRORS, let me know immediately. Unless there are errors in the grade books, I will not reply to emails asking me to change/improve your scores. We looked at each exam carefully and we have been as generous as possible, based on your performance. The final exams will be available for you to pick up over IAP in Prof. Parks office during normal work hours.
Our best wishes for a joyous holiday break!

Sorry, it looks like I will not get grades back for one of the Final problems until the middle of next week. So I cannot yet process grades and upload to stellar. So sorry.
Overall, from what I have seen, You have done VERY well on this final. I am very happy for you.
So rest, relax, and wait to hear from me after Christmas.
As soon as the grades for the final have been tallied and uploaded, I will email you.

All 2.001 assignments grades are on stellar: check them!
Grades for the entire semester (except of course the final) are now on stellar. You should check that these grades reflect your own records.
Note that individual excused work as requested/granted in the google forms on MITx is not accounted on stellar. I will reconcile individual granted excuses from the forms with my own grade sheet when I assign the final grades.
Other than these few exceptions, all grades on stellar should now be consistent with your own records.
IF YOU FIND DISCREPANCIES: EMAIL ashley (brown2a@mit.edu), and we will look into the issues.
Good luck on your final exams!
Simona
