Presentation wrapup, friendly reminder (first of many)
Hi all,
Great, great job yesterday - those were fantastic presentations. A huge amount of work clearly went into your projects, and it really showed.
And, as a reminder, please fill out course evaluations! I'll keep making these announcements until the response rate gets halfway decent...

Wednesday's presentations
Hi All,
Final Project Presentations are this Wednesday, starting at noon. We’ll be in the big classroom next door to our normal room (48-316). The 1.080-only people will go first, followed by the 1.080/1.107 people.
Some notes about the presentations:
- Please plan for a 10-15 minute presentation, followed by a few minutes for questions.
- It’d be best to work off Powerpoint slides. For the 1.107 people, you’ll find that you largely just have to move your poster contents (graphics, text) into slide form.
Lunch (pizza) will be served. Let us know if you have any questions.
Jesse Kroll and Harry Hemond
P.S. Please fill out teaching evaluations!!!

Meetings re research papers; lab hours
Dear 1.080 and 1.107 classes,
For those doing lab-based projects, we will try to have the lab open all of this week, May 6-10, during business hours (9-12, 1-5). However, we do also ask that you let us know about specific hours you may need, in case schedule conflicts arise.
Evening hours are also possible on request; please inquire of Schuyler (skysg@mit.edu) w/copy to profs Kroll and Hemond.
For those in 1.080 but not 1.107, you are both welcome and encouraged to drop in to room 48-109 to discuss and get feedback on the papers, particularly during scheduled 1.080 class hours but also most other business hours this week. (this is in addition to any specific appointments that you may want to make)
In case you have not been down there, 48-109 is the undergrad lab/classroom. (Please enter the classroom side of the room, or put on safety glasses if you enter from the lobby and pass through the lab half of the room.)

Deer Island tour, May 16
Hi all,
As many of you know, Prof. Janelle Thompson has arranged for a tour of the Deer Island Wastewater Treatment Plant (which processes most of the sewage from the greater Boston area) on the morning of May 16 (9:00a-1:30p). It's primarily for 1.083, but because of its relevance for our class, any of you not in 1.083 are welcome to come along also. It's a really impressive place, and this year we're seeing the analytical lab for the first time. If you would like to go you need to fill out a background-check form, posted on the Materials page of our stellar site, and emailed to Prof. Thompson (janelle@mit.edu). The fuse on this is short - deadline is TOMORROW (Monday), so if you would like to go you need to fill out that form ASAP.
Also, just as a reminder: that there are no more lectures for 1.080; our last class meetings are May 1st recitation (to go over the exam) and the May15th afternoon meeting (to present final projects)
