Announcements

Pset 5, P3

Hi all,

A revised statement for pset 5 has been posted. The only change is that in P3, we make the assumption that the transition state excludes 2 sites. You may use either the original assumption of 1 site for the TS or the new version and receive full credit for correct work.

Homework format

Hi all,

Although the website may allow online submission, please print out a copy of your homework and turn it in at the beginning of class on (or before) the due date.

Best,
Ray

Office Hours, Homework

To simplify the homework turn-in process, please turn in your homework before class begins with all your problems stapled together.

To clarify office hours:

Martin tries to be available for ~1hr after class on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Venkat and I will normally be available in our offices (E34-406 and E34-402 respectively) on Tuesdays at 10am. However, we will not be there this coming Tuesday (11 Mar).

Piazza

As mentioned in class, we will use Piazza as our format for general Q&A for the class. The class Piazza page can be found at

https://piazza.com/class/hrap9zyiyb33uz?cid=3#

This is a forum in which everyone can post questions (optionally anonymously). Also, you can format math with a graphical editor or simply using LaTeX syntax if you're more familiar with that (enclose the math like $$x^2$$).

We chose to use Piazza because of these advantages it has over the Stellar forums as well as the benefit that everyone can contribute to and view responses. If you have any question that is (a) technical or (b) of general logistical interest, please post the question to Piazza instead of emailing me or Martin. If you have a personal issue, feel free to email us directly. If you are unsure if your question might be too specific for public posting (e.g. too much detail on a homework problem), you may email us, and we will post the appropriate part to Piazza and respond there.
