all grades posted / project reminder / course evaluation
Dear electrokineticists,As Prof. NGH mentioned at the end of lecture, all problem set and exam grades are on Stellar. Please check to see if there is any discrepancy between what you think the numbers should be and what Stellar thinks the numbers are (and, in the event that there are errors not in your favor, consider letting me know!).
As a reminder, the final project is due tomorrow by 5 PM sharp. You may submit either a hard copy or an e-copy.
Finally, please take a few minutes (perhaps while waiting for your last simulation to finish running) to evaluate the course at http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation/evaluate.html. Your feedback is immensely helpful, not only for us but also for future generations of 2.37. I am very grateful to all of you for the many excellent questions and conversations all throughout the semester; a few minutes of your time spent on the course evaluation would be the cherry on top!
With a charged double layer of sentimentality,
Jerry

office hours tomorrow
[In vintage Robin Williams style] Goooooooooooooooooooooooood eveningggggg MD simulatorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs! In response to many of your questions, I will have office hours tomorrow. My (statistically educated) guess is that there are many burning MD questions on your minds (like what to do if your simulation temperature increases out of control, retroactive pun intended), so that's what we'll focus on. If everybody finishes their project before the end of office hours, we can rhapsodize about the Boltzmann Equation or any other 2.37 topics that your molecularly talented hearts desire.
Signing off on one of the last e-mails of the semester,
Jerry

(final) problem set posted
Dear kineticists,Like any (real-world) random walk, 2.37 must eventually come to an end (although hopefully this class hasn't felt entirely like a random walk!). The final step in the homework dimension (hopefully in the positive direction) has been posted. It will be due next Wednesday. Recognizing the enormity of stress (or perhaps the trace of the stress tensor) this time of semester, Problem Set 7 only has two problems. To mark the significance of this occasion, I sign off (in haiku) as:

hints added to Problem 4
In response to several questions about Problem 4 of the exam, an updated version of the exam has been posted with clarified wording (and bonus hints!) for Problem 4. The problem has not changed at all (so if you solved the original problem correctly, you're already done!), but the clarification and hints should make the problem easier to solve for those who might be confused or stuck.
Good luck!
With hopes for auspicious time-evolution of your exams,
Jerry
