Times for Slalom and Speed Races Posted

In case you didn't record all of your times for the races, they are now posted on Stellar. You may want to use them in your final reports.

Final Report Grading Rubric

First of all, congratulations to everyone for an excellent final flight day. I think you all could see the difference between performance on the first and final days. It looked like everyone had fun, and hopefully you have all learned something from this project about design, construction, operations, and teamwork.
Remember that the project is not complete until the lab is completely cleaned up, so use your lab periods this week to put everything away in their proper places. Leave the lab as clean as you found it at the beginning of the project.

I have posted the grading rubric for your final reports in the LTA section of Materials on Stellar. This should help all teams get perfect scores on your reports. Please send the reports to me electronically as Word files. Include any photos you think are relevant and helpful. Reports are due before midnight Thursday. (By MIT rules, faculty are not allowed to accept work after this time, because it would cut into your study periods for finals. So please submit on time.)

I'll send out a final reminder about Thursday's class, but remember that for this final day, attendance is required. We will give out prizes for the LTA competition and watch an interesting LTA video.

LTA Race Information and Peer Review Reminder

I have peer reviews from ~⅔ of the class. Not turning in a peer review results in a zero, which would be unfortunate. Better later than never! I will accept late reviews until midnight tonight.

The weather forecast for tomorrow morning is for rain with winds up to 20 mph. Give some thought to how you are going to safely transport your vehicles across Mass. Ave. Hopefully, all teams have checked out their vehicles and are ready to go, so we will be waiting for you starting at 9 a.m. Good luck to all teams!

Reminder to fill out and send in your peer evaluations

Peer evaluations are due by 5 p.m. Monday
See you all bright and early Tuesday morning.

LTA Performance

16.00 Students,
I was distressed yesterday morning when I went into the lab to see most teams still working on electronics and structures. Tuesday mornings are NOT the time to be getting your vehicles ready for flight. You should be working during your lab times and over the weekend if necessary or even Monday evening. Next Tuesday is the final flight day. PLEASE HAVE YOUR VEHICLES CHECKED OUT AND READY TO FLY BEFORE TUESDAY! We want to see all vehicles in the air and racing around the gym with plenty of time for multiple runs.
Enough said...
