Lecture 2 Slides & Reading Assignment

Dear Class,

Lecture 2 slides are uploaded to Stellar (under "Materials"). By popular demand, Lecture 3 slides will go live at the start of class, for real-time downloading and annotation. Note the slides will not cover in-class demo or writing on the board; they are only part of the in-class experience.

Reading assignment for this week:
i) Scherz and Monk’s “Practical Electronics for Inventors”: Ch. 1; Ch. 2: 2.1 – 2.3, 2.12, 2.14; Ch. 3: 3.5.
ii) www.electronics-tutorials.ws — DC Circuits Tutorial

Notes about the "DC Circuits Tutorial" online resource above: (1) Make sure you read the last two pages (KVL and KCL). (2) Skim sections entitled "Nortons Theorem" and "Star Delta Transformation" — these are neat, but don't get too lost in these weeds. (3) We'll go through the example in the "Nodal Voltage Analysis" in class Wednesday.

Labs start on day 1!

Hello everybody,

Labs start the first week of class. Please visit our Google Form to send in your lab assignment preferences. Note that we do not use the Registrar's scheduling system -- you must enter info via the form to be assigned to a lab section. We'll process the assignments during lecture on Wednesday (9/4) and will post them before lecture is over.
