Grades submitted and final exam statistics
Hi everyone,1.) Grades for the course have been submitted. We do not know when they will appear on Websis.
2.) The final exam statistics and approximate letter grade distribution for the final exam are included below. If you would like to see your final, you may email first and then come by to my office (68-120C) between Jan 15-Feb 15, 2020. Please note that there are no regrades on the final.
Average = 156.06 Standard deviation = 22.22
Please find below the letter grade, the point range for the letter grade, percent of students with the letter grade (in this order):
A = 174 - 200 (% students with grade = 23.4 %)
B = 142 - below 174 (% students with grade = 51.7 %)
C = 120 - below 142 (% students with grade = 18.8 %)
D = 108 - below 120 (% students with grade = 4.3 %)
F = below 108 (% students with grade = 1.8 %)

TA-led optional final exam review and pictures of the board
Hi everyone,1.) Pictures of the board from today's optional final exam review have been posted on Stellar > Materials > Exam folder.
2.) A TA-led optional final exam review will take place tomorrow Sat Dec 14 between 2-4 PM in 10-250.
3.) Office hours for next week have been posted on Stellar > Materials > Office Hours folder.

Important information about the final exam
Hi everyone,The final exam for 7.012 is going to take place on Thursday Dec 19 between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM in Johnson Track (Building W34). Seating will be by recitation. Please see attached floor plan to class email.
A few notes about the upcoming final:
1.) Please note that this is a CLOSED BOOK exam that will include topics covered in all of the lectures (Lectures 1-35).
2.) Two sets of practice questions for the final exam have been posted on Stellar Materials page under the Exam folder (as some of you asked for extra study questions). In preparation for the final, we recommend that you go over your lecture notes, P-sets, recitation materials, previous exams, and posted practice exams. Other study material includes MITx videos and practice questions, Secret of Life chapters and chapter questions.
3.) Please note that you will NOT need a calculator for this exam.
4.) Please bring your MIT ID card with you to the exam and place it face up on the desk. Again – please note that seating is by recitation.
5.) Prof. Drennan and I will hold joint office hours on Tue Dec 17 between 4-5:30PM and on Wed Dec 18 between 4:30-6PM (Location 68-674). Pre-final office hours will be posted on Stellar Materials page under the Office Hours folder. Please note that some additional hours or changes may be announced through Stellar.
6.) An instructor-led optional review session for the final will be held on Friday Dec 13, between 10:00AM-12:00 PM in 34-101. For the review, we will start with the later topics in the semester (review topics covered after exam 4 have been posted in the exam folder) and answer any questions you may have on all topics. Please come prepared with questions. I will stay after the review session to answer additional questions you may have.
7.) A TA-led optional final exam review will be held on Saturday Dec 14 between 2-4 PM in 10-250.
8.) Thanks to everyone who filled the course evaluations. If you
have not had a chance, please do so before the evaluation window
closes at 9 AM on Mon Dec 16. Please remember to give feedback on
the Secret of Life site as well.

Exam 4 stats and Secret of Life feedback

2.) Exam 4 is being distributed during recitations today Tue Dec 10.
3.) The solutions for Exam 4 have been posted on the Gradebook Module. Please look at the exam solutions before considering a regrade request. You have until Friday Dec 13 to submit a regrade request in writing along with your exam and give them to your TA. Regrade requests need to be approved by your TA first. The written request must be stapled to the exam with the exact reason for the regrade clearly stated. Please note that if you submit a regrade request, your entire exam will be regraded. Only exams completed in pen will be accepted for a regrade.
4.) The exam statistics and approximate letter grade distribution for this exam are included below. Please note that the letter grade breakdowns announced are approximations, are meant to give you an idea of your standing in the exam and are not necessarily indicative of your final overall class grade.

Pick up exams tomorrow and practice questions for final posted
Hi everyone,1.) As you may have seen, your exams have been graded. You may pick up your exam tomorrow, during Tuesday recitations in your recitation section.
2.) The solutions for Exam 4 have been posted on the Gradebook Module. Average was 83.13 (st dev 9.88) The exam statistics will be announced soon.
3.) Office hours for this week have been posted on Stellar > Materials > Office Hours folder

5.) Course subject evaluations are now open until 9 AM on Monday Dec 16. Please take the time to fill in course evaluations. Your comments help us improve the course for future semesters.
