Microquiz 4 Information

Dear students, here are details regarding Microquiz 4 on Wednesday May 12. Notable differences from previous quizzes is that it will be 45 mins and will contain programming and multiple choice questions. It covers lectures 1-9 (with emphasis on 8-9)

General Notes:
* On Wednesday May 12, the quiz will be available at 3:40pm Boston time and it will be taken down 14 hours later.
* You may begin the quiz within that time period but will have 45 minutes to complete it once you view the questions.
* Your quiz access ends when the 14 hours are up or when your 45 minutes are up, whichever is sooner.
* The quiz will cover material from Lectures 1-9 (with emphasis on 8-9).
* The quiz will be multiple choice and programming questions.
* If you have already given me your accommodations letter, your timer will be adjusted accordingly.
Allowed
* to use materials provided in the course: textbook, notes, and slides, python code from class
* to use an IDE on programming questions only (questions where you must submit code)
NOT allowed
* to use the Internet
* to run any code provided in the quiz for questions you where you don't submit code
* to discuss the quiz with anyone for the 14 hours while the quiz is available

Quiz Details and Logistics:
* By starting the quiz, you are automatically agreeing to an honor pledge.
* Each question has a separate Submit button, there is no overall Submit or checkout password.
* For multiple choice: hit the Submit button even if you choose none of the options. You won't see whether your answer is correct.
* For programming questions: you only see one or two, minimal, test cases and their correctness. They are there to avoid copy/paste errors from your IDE to the submission page. Your score will be based on how it performs on the test cases WE use. Your score will be based on how many of our test cases you pass (i.e. no need to comment the code). In extreme circumstances, we will manually look at the code.
* Submit early and often! We grade only your last submission. When the timer gets down to 1 second, the Submit button becomes disabled.
* If there is something confusing during the quiz, there will be a text box where you can write confusions/assumptions you made.
* To end the quiz, refresh the page and check that your answers are submitted (this is an important step!), and then you can close the page and/or just let the timer run out.

* there are multiple choice, short answer, and programming questions
* you will be allowed to use an IDE only on questions where you must submit code
* covers lectures 1-7 (with emphasis on 6-7)

Microquiz 2 Results Update

Hi everyone,

Due to some last minute changes we had made to Microquiz 2 questions, some of the answers had not been updated. As a result, there were some mistakes in the answers. The correct answers are now on the quiz page:
* Q1 option 4 should be False
* Q2 option 1 should be False
* Q3 option 2 should be False

We regraded the quiz with these correct answers so your score may have changed a bit. Updated stats:

Mean: 8.2
Median: 8.5
Std dev: 1.4
