Yes Men
Students - you may be
interested in this movie which is hilarious and has strong human
rights themes.
Dear Professor Rajagopal,
I'm writing to let you know that the Yes Men's new award-winning documentary film, The Yes Men Fix the World (www.theyesmenfixtheworld.com) , starts a 1-week run at the Coolidge Corner Movie House in Boston on Oct. 23: http://theyesmenfixtheworld.com/screenings.htm.
We´d love your students to come see the film! At festival screenings around the world young people have responded with lots of enthusiasm, and has sparked many dynamic debates and discussions on politics, economy, journalism, media literacy, performance art and free speech. The film can be a great way to bring your cours ework in Human Rights in Theory and Practice
alive.
The Good News: We can get your classes in with a group discount ($6,75 per ticket).
* Monday-Friday any screening (starting Oct.23 to Oct. 30)
* Groups of 5 or more
* Professors get in for free.
* Must contact Jesse Hassinger from Coolidge Corner Movie House in advance (contact Jesse Hassinger, mailto: jesse@coolidge.org, (617) 734-2501. Ext. 104)
We are also finishing up a teaching guide which you can use to guide lessons after the film screening, which will be available well before October.
We hope this sounds like a fun and enriching option for your fall coursework. We guarantee your students will learn a lot, or your money back! If you want to take it up directly with Coolidge Corner Movie House , please do: mailto: jesse@coolidge.org , (617) 734-2501. Ext. 104. Or let us know you're interested and we'll put you in touch.
Please let us know if you're coming, so that we can start planning which screenings to go to! Thanks and let me know if this sounds like something you think would fit with your curricula, and we hope to get a chance to introduce your students to the Yes Men!
Pedagogically yours,
Lola at The Yes Men
