News about iTeams Spring 2010 (15.371)

Announcement about iTeam course 15.371. iTeam Spring 2009 projects can be found in the Materials section under E-Center:

• Do you want to work with innovative technology from MIT labs, evaluating their commercial potential, key market applications - developing a commercialization strategy and building an execution plan focused on the technology and the market?

• Do you want to build your skills at evaluating cutting edge technology and early stage commercial potential, developing tools for commercial due diligence in the process?

• Do you want to building a network into the MIT Entrepreneurial Ecosystem?

If you do, apply for iTeams (15.371) TODAY!
iTeams (“Innovation Teams”) is a class offered jointly between the Schools of Engineering and Management. Students select a project from a set of technology projects selected from MIT labs or other leading research laboratories. Working with a team of 4-5 peers (an advisor and the scientists) throughout the semester you will focus on evaluating the commercial potential of the technology and developing a commercialization strategy for the most promising application. You will come out of the class with a good understanding of go-to-market strategy building, how to do market size analysis, identifying the right applications for scientific projects, the importance of IP and methodologies to engage customers – all key for due diligence in highly uncertain commercial setting - and methods to assess the risks associated with early-stage commercialization.

The course is led by Prof. Fiona Murray from Sloan (and current Associate Director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center) and Dr. Luis Perez-Breva from School of Engineering.

CLASS TIMES – Monday/Wednesday 5:30 – 8 (we usually only meet until 7) in STATA 124.

For more information and course registration details, check out the iTeams website at http://entrepreneurship.mit.edu/iteams/. A partial list of projects next semester are attached with this email. If you have more questions, contact the TA - Ravi Inukonda (ravii@mit.edu).
