Course Description:
Equal emphasis on current practice and advanced concepts. Airport location and planning with full consideration of economic, environmental, and other impacts. Demand prediction, determination of the capacity of the airfield, and estimation of levels of congestion. Design of terminals. Role of airports in the aviation and transportation system. Airport access problems. Optimal configuration of air transport networks and implications for airport development. Economics of the airport. Financing and institutional aspects. Special attention to international practice and developments.

Tuesday's class -- IMPORTANT
An important announcement. Because there are eight presentations left for Tuesday, with two of them by 2-person teams, we shall need more time for our class meeting.
The class will therefore begin at 12:40 and go until 2:30. The 2-person teams will have 15 minutes to present, and everyone else the usual 10 minutes, with 2 extra minutes allowed for questions.
Please do your best to be in the class at 12:40. I shall be there by 12:30 to set up. Those who cannot make the earlier time, especially if they are presenters, please send me a brief note and try to be in the class by 1 PM.
Presenters please send me your Powerpoints by 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, at the latest.
Finally, our apologies again to Hanbong Lee for having to cut his presentation short. Another class was waiting to use the room at 2:30 and we were already past that time.

As announced in class today:

2. Please send me your presentation by Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
3. Please plan for 10-minute presentations (to be followed by about 2 minutes of questions from the audience and/or discussion). Unfortunately we have a tight time constraint.
