Stellar material updates. Office hours.

Dear class,
We hope the preparations for the final exam are going well. We wanted to let you know of some updates / changes on the course page:
  1. The updated slides from the final review on 12/14 can be found under 'Materials > Final Review Session' (minor typos from yesterday's version were corrected).
  2. Complete solutions to all the posted final exams (2005-2007) are available under 'Materials > Final Exam'. 
  3. We wanted to remind you of the additional office hours available today / tomorrow (also posted on the main page of the course): Monday, Dec 15: 5-6pm; Tuesday, Dec 16: 11am-12noon, 2-3pm, 5-6pm.  Your TAs are also available by appointment outside these times.

NLP Practice solutions and Course Survey

1) A few students have asked us. The solutions to the problems on nonlinear optimization are posted under Recitation 12. (They have been online since last Tuesday)

2) When filling the course survey, please ignore the first page that reads 'Midterm Review'.

Final review session tomorrow 9-12 in Wong Auditorium

Just a reminder, that we will have a general review session for all the sections tomorrow, Sunday Dec 14th, in Wong auditorium. The review session will take place between 9-12pm. We will go over the entire material since the beginning of the semester. We will also present the solutions of the 2007 exam.

Final survey; schedule of office hours; materials posted on course website

Dear class,
We have the following announcements to make:
  1. The final survey has been released. The link to access it is stellar.mit.edu/S/course/15/fa08/15.060/surveys/s . If you intend to copy-paste it in your browser, please use http://stellar.mit.edu/S/course/15/fa08/15.060/surveys/s?s=785. We would really appreciate your feedback, as it would provide really valuable information in designing a more relevant and useful course for the classes to come. Plus, it should not take long (10 minutes at most!) so we highly encourage you to participate!
  2. Schedule of office hours before the final: Thursday, Dec 11: 3-4pm, 4-5pm, 5:30-6:30pm;  Friday, Dec 12: 1-2pm; Monday, Dec 15: 5-6pm; Tuesday, Dec 16: 11am-12noon, 2-3pm, 5-6pm (this is also listed on the main webpage, under information). The teaching staff will also be available to meet with you individually, by appointment.
  3. The wrap-up lecture on Wednesday has been posted ('Materials > Lecture 19').
  4. Solutions to Homework 5 have been posted ('Materials > Homework 5')
  5. Solutions to the 2005 exam have been posted ('Materials > Final Exam')
More materials will be posted in the course of the day, so please check your emails regularly.

Final lecture on Wed; Recitation this week; Rooms for final exam

Dear class,
We have the following quick announcements to make:
  1. The final DMD lecture will be this Wednesday (12/10). The professors will wrap up the material, and relevant information about the final exam and follow-up courses will be provided. It is a mandatory lecture, so please be there...
  2. The recitations this week will cover the solutions to the 2005 DMD Final (a copy of the exam has been uploaded in "Materials > Recitation 13"), and the TAs will also take any questions that you might have about the material.
  3. The schedule of the classrooms for the final exam is now available (see below). For ease of reference, we have also included it in the main information on the course homepage.
