Class Contact List Posted to Stellar

Class,

In case some of you missed it buried in my last email - I have posted a class contact list file in the Materials section of Stellar so everyone can stay in touch after class and presentations end.

Good luck with your final presentations.  It was a pleasure being your TA for the semester.

Posters and Final Presentation Schedule

Teams,

Great job with the poster session tonight.  I think everyone enjoyed it.  However if you took home one of the foam boards used tonight those below to the E-center and need to be returned.  Please bring it to your final presentation.  Thanks.

The final schedule can be found here: http://www.doodle.com/participation.html?pollId=dyr6m37cu7s9ws6b
Plaese note that the final two sessions on saturday have been moved back 30 min to 1:30 and 3:00 (I was unable to update those times on the Doodle).

I will also be posting a contact spreadsheet so you will be able to keep in touch with your classmates after the semester is over.

Thanks,
Brad

Conference Call Instructions for Final Presentations

Teams,

If one of your team members will be dialing in to the final presentation for E-Lab at the end of this week please see below for instructions.

If there is only 1 team member who will be on the phone - we will be calling from the E-Center to that person.  Please coordinate with your teammates regarding the proper number to use and any relevant international dialing instructions.

If there are multiple team members who will be on the phone - please let me know immediately and we can set up a traditional conference call.  There have been quality issues with this in the past which is why we are not going solely with this method.

As always please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Brad

Updated Final Class Schedule - 15 min schedule change

Teams,

Hope everything is finishing up well with your projects and the semester is winding down nicely. We have decided to try and push everything 15 min on Wednesday to allow for some conflicts that arose for everyone.

Teams are now expected to be set up by 6:15 and ready to deliver the short elevator pitch Alan outlined previously.  We will be opening up the classroom at 5:30 to facilitate poster set-up.

The revised schedule is as follows: From 5.45pm to 6.15pm, we will set up the posters around the class.  From 6.15pm-6.45pm we will hear the short elevator pitch presentations.  From 6.45pm to 7.45pm we will have the poster session, in which you can take turns to walk around and learn from other teams experiences.  At 7.45pm, we will hand out course evaluations, which you should turn in to me (Brad).

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me as always.

Thanks,
Brad

Recommendations for Final Presentations

Class,  A few recommendations when thinking about your final presentation to both your company and the class professors.
  1. Use the direct method.  Start with your recommendations and then you can get into how you arrived at each.  Presumably at this point you have a strong enough relationship with the client that they will trust your methodology so don't spend lots of time there but do be prepared to answer questions (appendix slides may be appropriate)
  2. On your presenation make sure to include the following (this is simple and HIGHLY recommended by Ken and Alan):  1) The E-Center Logo 2) Names and Affiliation (e.g. MIT Sloan, HBS, etc.) 3) Numbered Pages
If you have any questions about the structure of your final presentation or the in class poster session next week please feel free to reach out to me.  Email: Bradford.Coffey@sloan.mit.edu or call 207.318.4292

Thanks,
Brad
