16.06  Principles of Automatic Control

Information: 

Introduction to design of feedback control systems. Properties and advantages of feedback systems. Time-domain and frequency-domain performance measures. Stability and degree of stability. Root locus method, Nyquist criterion, frequency-domain design, and state space methods. Application to a variety of aircraft and spacecraft systems.

Quiz 2 Ready to be Picked Up

Problem 2 and the exams that were not picked up yesterday in class are available from Kathryn Fischer in 33-336.

They will be available today and tomorrow from 9-4.

Quiz 2 Details

Quiz 2 will be Tuesday, 11/25, from 7:30-9:30 in E51-345.  You will be allowed one handwritten "cheat sheet", front and back.  Calculators are allowed as well.  Please write in either pencil or black pen.  The quiz will focus on material from after quiz 1 until just before state-space.  Material from quiz 1 may also be covered by quiz 2.

Quiz 1 Details

Quiz 1 will be held in E51-315 from 7:30-9:30 PM tomorrow (10/8/08).  Please remember to:
-Write your name on each page
-Write only on the front of pages
-Explain your work
-Be neat
-Show units
-Use either pencil or black pen.

The quiz will not include any material on designing lead or lag compensators.
