Final Exam and Updated Syllabus

Hi class,

Our final exam is scheduled for next Tuesday, December 16, 9 am to 12 pm in DuPont. As John said in class today, half of the exam will cover new material and half will be comprehensive. Also, I've posted the final version of syllabus, which lists all of the material that we covered this semester.

Best, Laurie

Final Exam Review Info

Hi class,

For the final exam, John has invited us to hold an informal review session at Simmons Hall this Sunday from 1 to 3 pm. The TAs will  be there to help answer any last minute questions. Please sign in at the front desk and come find us on the second floor (where the model kit grading was). We'll have some quiet areas set aside to work on 5.07 material and we'll have a sign posted so you know where to find us when you arrive.

Also, Veena and Sarah will be hosting a review session for their sections on Sunday and they have invited students from other sections to attend. Their review session will be from 11 to 1 pm in our usual classroom.

Good luck on the final!

~Laurie

Cut and Paste Assignment for Friday, December 5

Dear Class,

Tomorrow (Friday), I'll start the Pentose Phosphate Pathway (PPP).  The handout I posted on Metabolism III has two pages that need to be printed and pasted together (pages 14 and 15).  It will help you follow the lecture if you do this before class.  I believe there is a great value to the eye-hand interaction of taking notes, but this pathway is really complex.  It may be best that you watch more than write on this one.  After I do the structures, I'll show you a mind game I use to understand the pathway.  That may be on Monday.

So cut and paste away ... the stuff you learned in Kindergarden, once again, shows its value!

Best,

John
