The required text for the class will be "Introductory Applied Quantum and Statistical Mechanics" by Hagelstein, Senturia, and Orlando, (John Wiley & Sons, 2004). The best deal that I have been able to arrange for purchasing new books is through Quantum Books at http://www.quantumbooks.com/ . Quantum Books used to be near the MIT campus but has now moved, so that it is best to order the book on-line from them. Quantum Books will be stocking the text and they usually have a one-day or two-day delivery time. Best to order before class begins, if possible.
