The final exam has been graded and the master solution posted on stellar (scroll down all the way in the Materials section). A pdf file with the answers as well as separate Excel sheets for the NPV and CER calculations are provided. The final grades for the class should be available in WEBSIS later on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
Please contact Jeremy Agte our TA if you have questions about the composition of your final grade after receiving it.
Many thanks for participating in the first edition of this new class. I wish you and your family safe travels and happy, relaxing holidays.

16.842 - Final Exam posted
The final online exam for 16.842 has now been posted at the following URL:This exam contains 10 questions, some multiple choice and some that require a (brief) text answer. My estimate is that it will take about 2 hours to complete this exam. The exam is individual and open book. It covers mainly the material in the 2nd half of the class, including topics such as interface management, human factors, net present value analysis and cost estimation.
The exam is open from now until Monday, December 14 at 6:00pm Eastern.
I am not sure it is possible to save intermediate answers and then complete the online form later, so I recommend you work out your answers offline and then enter them all at once.
Don't forget to enter your name and MIT email address at the end.
Good Luck
Prof. Olivier de Weck
PS Final grades will be posted to WEBSIS on or after December 18, 2009

Homework 4 posted - the last one !
The last homework A4 has been posted to stellar. This one is based on the 2005 qualifying exam and has more of an operations flavor. Again you can choose to do either the aero or astro version of the question. This assignment is due on December 10, 2009 the last day of classes.
Also, that day I will be posting the online final exam, in the same format as last time (online, open book). You will have 4 days to complete it.
Our last official in class session will be after Thanksgiving on Friday December 4 from 1-3pm. The lecture topic will be "Lifecycle Management" and I will be summarizing the key takeaways from this class.
On December 11 there will be a voluntary social event with lunch and an informal Lego Mindstorms competition. Jeremy will be publishing the rules very soon.
Happy Thanksgiving !

This question is based on the 2001 doctoral qualifying examination in the area of systems. The due date is Friday, November 20, 2009 before Thanksgiving.
There will be one more assignment, A4 in this class. This assignment will be due during the last week of classes.
