14.121: Practice problems

Dear 14.121 students,

I posted some practice problems which will hopefully help you prepare for the exam next week.  These are optional.

I also made some small revisions to the lecture notes on uncertainty and posted the last lecture notes.

See you in class tomorrow

14.121: Potential seminar of interest

Dear 14.121 students,

Just FYI -- when covering how researchers apply some of the ideas of trying to get to recover compensated demand empirically, I very briefly mentioned the 1995 Econometrica paper of Professors Hausman and Newey.

Tomorrow in the Econometrics seminar Professor Newey will be presenting new work titled "Individual Heterogeneity and Average Welfare," which builds on those ideas and is likely a great link between what we've learned in consumer theory and frontier econometrics.

Have a happy Columbus Day weekend

14.121: New classroom E51-145

Dear 14.121 students,

Starting on Monday, we've been assigned a different classroom, E51-145.  This is near the original classroom, but should accomodate more students.

I will also bring additional copies of David Krep's chapter on Afriat to class.  Other course materials are available on stellar.
