Tomorrow's Class
Hi everyone - just to remind you, there will be class tomorrow, so please show up on time, as we have a lot to cover. We will spend the first 10 or 15 minutes briefly going over the Final Exam. Then you will find out who your competitors were in the Strategic Oligopoly Game, and have a chance to meet with them and discuss what happened over the semester. (all blunt objects need to be left at the door :))In the last 40 minutes, Professor Pindyck will answer any questions and discuss any issues that you would like to raise. If there is a particular topic or question that you would like him to address, please send him an email ASAP (rpindyck@mit.edu). He's already received some requests, but is open to a few more - he will then select specific subjects to discuss.
Thanks, and happy holidays!

Important - Final Exam and Last Day of Class
1. Final Exam
- The review sessions for the final exam will be held this Friday and Saturday (December 9 and 10), from 2 – 4 PM, in room E51-345. We will go over the two practice exams that were handed out in class, skim through the major class topics, and go into detail wherever you have questions. Please work through at least one of the practice exams before attending, as this will help the discussion.
-
Please remember: the final exam,
held in class on Monday, December 12, will be
closed-book, and no electronic devices (calculators, PDAs, etc.)
will be allowed. However, you can bring to the exam on 8 1/2 x 11
sheet of paper, double-sided with notes. Please make every
effort to get to class early – the exam will start
promptly at 10:05 (morning) and 1:05 (afternoon) and you will only
be costing yourself time if you come late.
Wednesday, December 14, will be our last class in 15.013. We will spend the first 10 or 15 minutes briefly going over the Final Exam. Then you will find out who your competitors were in the Strategic Oligopoly Game, and have a chance to meet with them and discuss what happened over the semester. (You can finally find out why they set prices and output levels in such a crazy way, and why they failed to understand what you were doing.)
That will leave about 40 minutes, which Professor Pindyck would like to use to answer any questions and discuss any issues that you would like to raise. If there is a particular topic or question that you would like him to address, please send him an email in advance of the class (rpindyck@mit.edu). Professor Pindyck has found in the past that there are often topics that several students want him to talk about. If he knows what those topics are, he can plan to address them on the 14th.
Thanks, and good luck on the exam,

Monday's class - the topic of bundling
Dear class - Monday's class will cover bundling and brand proliferation. It's come to our attention that most students in 15.013 have either a) not covered bundling at all or b) skimmed over bundling last year in 15.010. We highly recommend you read over Section 11.5 in the Pindyck and Rubinfeld textbook if you are unfamiliar with this subject. If you have any questions about it, or any confusion, please email me or Tomas this weekend and we will try to get back to you with an answer as soon as possible. Thanks,
Gautham and Tomas
