please complete a brief writing survey

Thanks to everyone who has already completed the course writing survey.  If you have not yet done so, please take a minute to do so:
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22D6QFGJ4N2.  This will allow us to plan writing workshops that address your interest in topics that will help you with the writing assignments for the course.

using the writing center

Along with consulting with your T.A.s and with your writing advisor, don't forget that the writing center is a great resource as well: writing tutors will see students, by appointment, M-Thursday 9am-9pm, Fridays until 6pm and Sundays 5pm-9pm (they close for an hour at noon for lunch during the week). You'll need to book an appointment in advance: http://writing.mit.edu/wcc/appointments

more news on sections

Beginning on Monday, September 12th, students will be required to participate in a a recitation section each week. We have created seven different sections. Please look at the times that each meets, and choose the one that fits your schedule best.

If the one you want is full and you can not add it, please choose another section. If you can not attend any of the sections which have empty slots, or if you have any questions about how to choose a section, please email a TA and ask for help.

Once again, section meetings start this coming week, on Monday, September 12th, so please add yourself to a section as soon as possible. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you next week!

recitation sections

In addition to attending Prof. Van Evera's two lectures each week, students will need to attend a recitation section each week. Sections will be small-- approximately 8 students in each. We are in the process of choosing times for sections. More news on this will follow.
