Subject Description:
Chemical and physical properties of the cell and its building blocks. Structures of proteins and principles of catalysis. The chemistry of organic/inorganic cofactors required for chemical transformations within the cell. Basic principles of metabolism and regulation in pathways, including glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, fatty acid synthesis/degradation, pentose phosphate pathway, Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. DNA replication transcription and translation are not covered in this course (see 5.08 for these topics).

Picking up 5.07 final exams
To get your final exam, go to the Chemistry Education Office (2-204) and say you are picking up your 5.07 exam. You are allowed to keep your exam.

5.07 final exam and course grades available
We have finished grading the final exam, and course grades have been assigned. The answer key for the final exam has been posted. The mean was 148.33 out of 200, and the standard deviation was 33.66. You will have the opportunity to view your graded final exams in January; I'll send another email with details.
To find out your final exam and course grades: email the TA who taught your recitation section and ask.

The appendices from the 2010 final exam have been posted under "study materials." Our plan is to give you these exact appendices for this year's final exam, and we will send you another email to inform you if we add anything.
