7.89/CSB.100  Topics in Comp & Sys Biology

Hello CSB.100/7.89 students,

I hope you're enjoying the Labor Day holiday.
A few important notes on this year's edition of 7.89/CSB.100
"Topics in Computational and Systems Biology":

• All course materials will be distributed via the course web site:

http://stellar.mit.edu/S/course/7/fa11/7.89/

• You can get a feeling for the copics covered in the course by browsing
the Material section of the stellar site.  A syllabus will be posted by week 2.

• Class meets from 11AM - 1PM in 66-148.
 
• The first day of class is this Friday, Sept. 9th.  You must be present at the first
class session if you wish to take the class.

• The agenda for the first day is:
- get to know each other a bit
- discuss goals, format, and organization of course
- discuss two papers to illustrate format of the course
- the papers - by Marcotte et al. and Pellegrini et al. are available on the stellar site under > Materials > Week 1.
- please read the papers prior to class if at all possible.  (Note: these papers are relatively
short and easy compared to the papers typically discussed in the class.)
