Manufactuer's Fund and Wednesday Readings

Hi Class,

Per today's class, the Manufactuer's Fund Case assignment is due this Friday , December 6th at 5 PM.

The base case model before any transaction should be done by class on  Wednesday and we will review it in class.

In terms of solving for the the maximum amound of loan closing disburseemnts (i.e., new loans) , use the Excel goal seek function.

This function is found under the data menu and what if analysis tab. Click on goal seek and you will get a dialogue box with three items to complete:

"set cell" --enter the cell address for the cash line on the balance
"to value" --enter $650,000 --the minimum cash balance constraint
"by changing cell" --enter the cell address for new loan closing disbursements

You will need to do this seperately for each of the three years in the financial projections (FY2001, FY2002, FY2003 model

For this Wednesday's class, please read all of Chapter 15 in Economic Development Finance--this will provide an introduction to TIF Financing which we'll discuss on Wednesday.
