Final Papers Due Today

Your final papers are due today.  Prof. Gibbons' assistant Kaitlyn has put a box outside her cubicle on the 5th floor (near Prof. Gibbons' office).  Please put a hard copy of your paper in the box, and email a copy to Prof. Gibbons and myself.

Thanks all for a great class!

HP Executive Summaries

Your HP executive summaries are graded and in your folders (one per team).  The group work is graded out 10 points, participation in class is worth an additional 2 points.  A few notes going forward.  The most successful summaries are to the point and specific.  You don't need to spend much space on background, I've read the case so you can move on to your argument.  Ideas like 'build a shared understanding' are great goals, but what I'm looking for is actions the CEO can take to achieve these goals.  So for instance, Socrates, Tiana, and Mike wrote "sustain and communicate the importance of the satisfaction surveys by responding to the results", and gave specific examples of things that could be implemented.   This is exactly what I'm looking for: a desired outcome linked to implementable actions.  Finally, one team asked about exhibits.  These are completely optional, and should be included only if it specifically furthers your argument (for instance, to illustrate a recommended change in the org chart).

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Best,
Eliza

No Class Tomorrow: Optional Office Hours Instead

Since Professor Gibbons is out of the country, I will be holding optional office hours in place of class tomorrow (at the usual time and place).  This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the material thus far as well as any questions about the executive summaries and final paper.

Best,
Eliza

Team Composition and Case Preferences

Just a friendly reminder that your team composition and case preferences are due via email before class tomorrow.  If you are having trouble forming a team, let me know and I'll help connect you.  Also to be clear, each team will do a write-up of 3 of the 4 possible cases (since BMGI is now just a regular course reading).  Let me know if you have any further questions!

Best,
Eliza
