Announcements
review session
Dear students,I'm going to go over the practice exam tomorrow evening at the review session, along with some linear algebra overview, of how to find eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices. Please bring all your questions, and feel free to email me suggestions for material you want me to cover.
Good luck and see you tomorrow,
Lina

Final review session and Final-related matters
Dear students,I am able to hold a review session on Monday. The times available for booking a room are the ones on this doodle poll: http://doodle.com/ct2qvtfp8zszfzty Please answer it by Saturday 9pm so I have time to make notes.
If less than 8 people are available for the review session, then instead I will just hold office hours on Monday and you can pass by my office if you have any questions.
To answer the common questions: we will try to send you the final from last year as practice as soon as possible. The final is *cumulative*, you have to know all we have covered this semester. If we need you to use a complicated equation, we will provide it. No equation sheets allowed. You do not need to prepare Bell's inequality.
Good luck studying and stay warm this weekend!

Pset 10 Hint
Dear students,Regarding problem 2, we need to extract the asymptotic behavior (as we did in class for the case of l=0). Here you have a term that goes as 1/r^2, so you need to also extract the behavior as r -> 0. In that case. u''(r) = l(l+1)/r^2 u, and the solution is u = C r^(l+1) + D r^(-l). Make sure you verify that statement! You proceed to the power series method after taking out the small r behavior and the exponential that comes from the limit r-> infinity.
I hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you're having trouble.
Best of luck with the last pset of the semester! It's almost
over :-)
