8.05  Quantum Physics II

End of semester!

Dear Class:

The final exams have been graded and the results posted. It was a challenging test but the results were quite good, with a class average of 70 for the students that took the test. I have published the test and the solutions in the materials section of our web-site. I think it is important that you are able to see the answers to the questions you wrestled with for over three hours. Of course, that can wait until next year! The final course grades have also been decided and I assume you will be able to see them in websis soon.

I enjoyed lecturing 8.05, and I appreciated very much your questions and enthusiasm. I am happy to know that I will continue to see many of you as recitation instructor in 8.06.

Profs. Detmold, Harrow, and myself want to wish you all happy holidays and a restful and enjoyable winter break.

Exam Tomorrow, 9 AM in du Pont

Dear Class:

Make sure to be there promptly, a few minutes before 9 am. Don't oversleep, have someone check that you wake up! Rest well, don't stay late studying. I have office hours today from 4:30 to 6 pm.

Last update for the formula sheet

Dear Class:

I added one line to the formula sheet, in the subject of the 2D -SHO, as mentioned in the review. I expect no further updates. You will be given a copy of the formula sheet on the final exam.

Correcting typos in Chapter 8

Dear Class:

I posted a new version of Chapter 8 (Multiparticle States and Tensor Products)
with some typos corrected. A factor of 1/2 missing in (4.75) (Aram Harrow)
and several misprints in (3.56) (Juana Becerra).

Formula Sheet 2013 for Final posted

Dear Class:

Although I may add still a few more things to it, I have posted a formula sheet for the final exam (top item in Materials). Looking at it in detail is one way to make sure you have reviewed key concepts.
