3.941/10.668 Statistical Mechanics of Polymers
Fall 2014
Instructors: Alfredo Alexander-Katz, Gregory C Rutledge
TAs: Yi Ding, Vaibhaw Kumar
Lecture: TR11-12.30 (66-154)
Information:
The course provides an introduction to statistical mechanics of chain-like molecules. Emphasis is placed on theory and simulation of macromolecular systems from the molecular perspective. Topics covered include basic theories of chain conformation, thermodynamics of polymer solutions and melts, and chain dynamics. Methods of molecular simulation and experimental verification are also presented.
