Participate in Speak Up Workshop MIT Diversity Summit

Hello and Happy New Year!

As I mentioned at the end of our last class, I am looking for students who would like to participate in the workshops I will be facilitating using the Speak Up handbook at this year's MIT Diversity Summit on Jan 29 and Feb 20.

You and other students, staff, and community members will be enacting scenes using the Speak Up and Thought Bubble techniques to demonstrate how to handle challenging situations involving conscious or unconscious bias.

If you are in Cambridge this month and you would like to participate in the Jan 29 workshop, 3:30-5pm, please do contact me asap.

I realize that most of you are out of town in January, so it is possible to participate in just the Feb 20 workshop (afternoon time TBA) if that is what your schedule allows. Please let me know soon.

We will have one or two rehearsal meetings as well for each of these workshops.

Journal Page #4 Improvisational Leadership/Daena Giardella Due Dec 9, 2014, 4pm

Hello Improvisational Leadership Class members,

I have posted the prompts for your journal page #4 for today's class here at Stellar. Please submit both hard copy and digital version as usual.

Reminder: I have extended the due date for the Final Paper, which is now due on Friday Dec 12 at 12 noon. Please deliver the hard copy to the designated box outside my office at E62-417. See the prompts posted here at Stellar under assignments.

Once again, I appreciated the engaged improvisations, thoughtful comments, and collaborative participation that you brought to today's class as we continued our exploration into difficult conversations. I look forward to reading your journals submitted today, which reflected on the spirited scenes and discussions during last week's class as well as your journals from today's class.

I would also like to acknowledge the people who gave solo impromptus today for their authenticity, generosity, and willingness to share a personal monologue. Each of you helped pave the way for the rest of the class members to learn and continue with these improvisational monologues next week.

The prompts for your Final Paper are now posted at Stellar. Please note, I have Extended the Due Date to Friday December Dec 12 at 12 noon.

Please deliver a hard copy to the designated box outside my office at E62-417 and submit a digital copy at Stellar.
