Violations of academic integrity policy

Students,

I am extremely disappointed and regret the need to be making this announcement, especially at this point in the semester. We have found many cases of cheating on the problem sets throughout the semester. In particular, there are a great deal of cases in problem sets 1 through 6 in which students have copied and/or modified other student's code. This includes but is not limited to: changing variable/function names, removing whitespace, flipping expressions, and rearranging code into different functions. Copying code is a clear violation of the collaboration policy and will not be tolerated in this class. We will be giving zeros for part B on each problem set where cheating is found in part B, likewise for part A. Students who have been found cheating will be notified via email in the coming days.

Collaboration policy listed in the course syllabus: https://stellar.mit.edu/S/course/6/fa14/6.006/courseMaterial/topics/topic1/syllabus/H01-course-information/H01-course-information.pdf
