8.05  Quantum Physics II

Final grades

Dear class,

The final grades have been submitted should be appearing online soon.
Overall I was very impressed with your performance in the course which I
know is a challenging one.

The final exam had a average of 71 and standard deviation of 17 with a
high score of 98, similar to previous years and our expectations. I will
post the solutions online in a little while.

Thanks for a great semester; I and the other instructors greatly
enjoyed working with you on 8.05. Your questions and interest
make it fun to teach.

Best wishes from all of us for a relaxing and enjoyable break.

Review session and final exam

Dear 8.05 class,

I want to remind you that the exam is 9:00 am on Monday in du Pont Gym (W31)
and we will start on time. Please arrive a few minutes early to get seated.
No books or calculators etc are allowed.

I will be holding a review session @ 2pm on Sunday in 4-153 (not our usual room) where we can go over various aspects of the course etc. I hope to see you
there,

Old exams, office hours etc

Hi All,

1) I have posted solutions for the first of the past exams. The others will appear during the week.
I've also posted the formula sheet for the upcoming final exam.

2) I have also posted a set of practice problems that you can use to learn the material we will cover tomorrow and Wednesday and revise some older things too. These are not going to be collected or graded and I will post solutions on Thursday.

3) I plan to hold extra office hours this week. I will be available 11-12 on Monday and from 3-5 on Tuesday. I won't be holding my Thursday office hour.

4) Finally I plan to have review session on Sunday afternoon at 2-4 in a room to
be decided.

PSet 12 again

Dear class,
I have fixed a factor of 1/sqrt{2} in Q3(b) of PSet 12
and reposted it

Dear class,
it was pointed out that Q4(d) on PSet 12
requires things that we have not covered
and so I am removing it from the PSet. I've you
have answered it that is of course OK but you
can get full marks without it.
