Format
The class runs from 2-4 PM MWF, with some exceptions noted on the
calendar.
On days for which a discussion paper is assigned, the first 1.5 hours of class will be a lecture, while the last 15-30 minutes will consist of a student-led discussion of the research article.
Problem sets:
Several topics will have problem sets. The problem sets will be
assigned on the first lecture of that topic and will be due one
week after the last lecture on that topic. Please see the class
calendar.
Paper presentations: Every student will be required to present a research paper (of the instructor's choice) to the class. Paper summaries: For every section *without* a problem set, every student will submit a 1-2 page summary of the paper to be discussed at class that day. This summary is due before the class begins that day.

40% -- Midterm
40% -- Final
10% -- Participation (Including paper presentation summaries)
10% -- Problem sets
