End of Classes

With the final Final Presentations session done, I just want to thank everyone for a semester full of engaging interactions.

Don't forget to fill out your subject evaluations: http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation

And as a reminder, there is no class on Wednesday, "just" the Assignment 3 deadline.

Wednesday (11/26) Class Canceled

Due to the severe weather warning just issued for Wednesday afternoon, I have decided to cancel the Wednesday (11/26) class so that those who are able to adjust their travel plans and were going to leave on Wednesday afternoon/evening can travel in the morning or on Tuesday instead. This means that no one has to do a makeup assignment for this week.

Be safe!

Final Presentation Schedule

Instructions: Each student will have exactly 7 minutes to present their analysis. There is no time for any technical presentation aids. The content presented is basically the same as for the written analysis, but due to time constraints, the oral presentation has to focus on the most important and interesting parts. The oral presentation is also an opportunity for feedback which can help sharpen the arguments and findings for the final written version of the analysis.

I strongly urge everyone to attend all the sessions you can. You can learn both from each other's presentations and feedback. Please note that there are parallel Wednesday sessions, and that we will have to go long by ten minutes the first Monday session.

Tomorrow: Epic Games on MIT Campus (Tues, Nov 18, 5-7pm, 32-155)

We’ve invited Epic Games to talk about the latest version of their Unreal Engine. Hope to see you all there!

"Making Games in Unreal Engine 4, No Coding Required!"
Tuesday, November 18, 32-155, 5-7pm

This intermediate/advanced session will show the attendees how to prototype a complete game experience in Unreal Engine 4 entirely from scratch, without writing a single line of code. Using Blueprint, Unreal Engine’s powerful visual scripting system, we will build a game completely from scratch and, time permitting, deploy it to an Android device.

Speaker: Zak Parrish, Developer Relations Technical Artist, Epic Games

Zak Parrish has spent more than a decade designing 3D and game development software training materials, including the Unreal Development Kit training series and the “Mastering Unreal Technology” reference volumes, the first of which earned a Best Book Front Line Award. As Epic’s developer relations technical artist, Zak leads the charge in building the foundation for tutorials and documentation covering Unreal Engine 4 technology
