Announcements
Thanks for a great class, and don't forget to fill out evaluations
Just to reiterate what was said in class, thank you all for making this a great semester. Your work has been thoughtful, original, and insightful - it is honestly a pleasure to read your work; and the moments we've had for discussion have also always been engaging - may we all continue it informally in hallways and spaces of the city, where the real learning happens anyway. Now that I've showered you with (truly sincere) flattery,
please don't forget to fill out the course evaluations:
http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation/
While praise is always welcome; please do give us your honest constructive criticisms. We do take these seriously and they do inform teaching methods and the direction of the class in the future; it is really the only mechanism for the teaching team to learn your thoughts on the class material and instruction. This year we reorganized much of the sequencing of the course material, so we would love feedback on how it was received.
And while I am confident you will all do fine in the class, as we stated before, we are always open to resubmissions of previous work, if you are unhappy with a particular grade. If you are interested in this, please email both Dennis and me with the revised submission by early Tuesday (if you need more time, please email us beforehand so we can discuss options).
May you all be done the semester's work soon, if not already; and enjoy the holidays!
Best,
-Lou

your commented 2nd journals should now be accessible via 'comments' on stellar. Let us know if you have any problems accessing the files. Overall, these were a good batch of journals. If you have any questions on the grades or comments, don't hesitate to ask.And good luck with the end of the semester!

Thurs class 9AM! plus optional recitation tomorrow 9:30am 9-450A
Hello UDDers,This is just a friendly reminder that we will start class at 9AM on Thursday (and still go to 11am). This is to avoid adding a class, and it will give us time to both discuss "the Good City", and for students to present on their final assignments. If you are interested in presenting, please send us an email.
Also, I wanted to invite everyone to the last optional recitation of the semester tomorrow (Weds) morning 9:30-10:30am in 9-450A. If you have any questions on assignment 2, or just want to critically discuss class material, please join us.
And please fill out the course evaluations! We take your comments and critiques seriously, and it is a great place to give us feed back so we can continue to improve the course.
If you have any questions about A2 or run into deadline issues, please drop us line as well.
Best,
-Lou

assignment 1 returned with comments
Under the "assignment 1" folder on this stellar site, you should now find a file under 'comments' that is your assignment with comments from the teaching team. If you have any difficultly with the file, please email Lou. Overall, these were a very good batch of papers, as you saw when your classmates presented on them. We are happy to meet individually to discuss any comments or grades. As we stated in class, you are always welcome to resubmit revised papers for better grades. If you wish to pursue such a course, be sure to schedule a meeting with the teaching team, and figure out a strategy for how to best finish the semester in a timely fashion --remember Assignment 2 is due in 2 weeks +1 day, and that should be your priority. Our comments from A1 should be helpful for A2.But more importantly, take a well deserved break and enjoy the holiday, whether it be turkey, tofurky, or "The Wizard of Oz" under a Snuggie (Pink Floyd optional).
Best,
-Lou
